Who We Are
American Childhood Cancer Organization at Texas A&M University is here to provide support for families dealing with childhood cancer. We are committed to increasing awareness of the hardships faced by pediatric cancer patients and their families, by providing outreach services to local families who are coping with childhood cancer, and by fundraising to support the programs of the American Childhood Cancer Organization.
Why We Got Started
Childhood cancer is vastly underpublicized and underfunded so we want to work towards increasing awareness of the gold ribbon childhood cancer symbol. Not many people know the gold ribbon like they do the pink ribbon for breast cancer. This is especially important for the College Station area because there is not a cancer treatment center for children in College Station. Families of child cancer patients have to travel to Houston or Temple.
